Who can perform Badal Hajj or Umrah on behalf of a loved one?
Badal Hajj or Umrah can be performed for deceased family members or for those unable to travel due to critical illness. Our team will guide you through the process according to Islamic guidelines.
Do I need to provide official documents?
Yes. We require your loved one’s death certificate with full name and year of passing. This ensures accuracy for documentation and proper coordination.
Can Badal Umrah/Hajj be performed for someone who passed away many years ago?
Yes. There is no time limit for performing Badal Hajj for a deceased loved one. We can assist with arrangements regardless of how long ago they have passed.

What is Badal Umrah or Badal Hajj?
Badal refers to performing Umrah or Hajj on behalf of someone else, usually a person who has passed away or is suffering from a chronic, incurable illness that prevents them from traveling.
Who can I perform Badal for?
You can perform Badal for someone who has passed away or is suffering from a chronic, incurable, or critically ill condition that prevents them from traveling to perform Umrah or Hajj themselves.
Is it allowed in Islam?
Yes. Badal Umrah and Badal Hajj are permitted in Islam. It is supported by authentic hadith and accepted by scholars across all four Mazhabs. The person performing Badal Hajj must have completed their own Hajj first.
When is it permissible to perform Hajj on behalf of someone who is still alive
(Badal Haji)?
Badal Haji for a living person is only allowed under specific circumstances:
Elderly or physically frail: For example, someone too weak to move from bed to a chair.
Chronic or permanent illness: For instance, end-stage dialysis, heart failure, chronic diabetes, paralysis, or serious accident-related conditions.
Severe mental illness: Conditions that prevent self-care and travel for Hajj.
Temporary illnesses do not permit Badal Haji. The person remains obligated to perform Hajj themselves once they recover and are able.
The Prophet ﷺ was asked by a woman about her elderly father, and he said: “Perform Hajj on his behalf.” (Hadith: Bukhari & Muslim)
Is this service Sahih, Verified, Legitimate, and Legal?
Yes. Our Badal Hajj and Umrah services are religiously valid (sahih), performed in accordance with Islamic teachings by trusted and experienced Mutawwif (guide) in Makkah. We provide photo and video proof along with a personalised certificate to ensure full transparency and authenticity.
On the business side, we are a registered company in Singapore under NASAR PTE. LTD. (UEN 202534841E). Our founders are asatizah certified under the Asatizah Recognition Scheme (ARS) — a professional credential held by them as individuals. Badal.sg is a private service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially part of any religious authority.
Are certified asatizah involved?
Yes. Our team includes certified asatizah in Singapore who oversee the process to ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with Islamic rulings. They are also available should you need any religious clarification regarding the ibadah of Badal at any point.
When is the Badal performed?
Badal Umrah is performed regularly throughout the year. Badal Hajj is performed only during the Hajj season (Dhul Hijjah).
How do I get started and place an order?
Browse our website and select your preferred package. Provide your details before making payment, and once payment is complete, you’ll be directed to the du’a page. We’ll handle the rest with Amanah and professionalism.
What are the available Badal Haji packages?
We offer the following Badal Haji packages:
Package A: Hajj only
Package B: Hajj + Qurban
Package C: Hajj + Umrah
Package D: Hajj + Umrah + Qurban
Each package also includes waqaf (1 chair + 1 Mushaf Al-Qur’an) in Masjidil Haram, carried out monthly on Fridays. After the Hajj is completed, a video recording and a softcopy certificate under the sponsor’s name will be provided.

Can I pay using credit card, GrabPay, or other digital methods?
Yes, you may use PayNow, credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, GrabPay, ShopBack, ShopeePay, and other digital payment methods. These are permissible in Islam as long as the service is halal and transparent.
Please note that we do not endorse or engage in any transactions involving interest (riba), such as Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) plans or any other payment options that charge additional interest fees. We encourage using payment methods that avoid interest whenever possible.
What happens after I place an order?
You will receive a confirmation email with your order details. Please check your inbox, and if you don’t see it, make sure to look in your spam or junk folder. You can also check its status anytime at status.badal.sg.
How do I know the Badal has been performed?
After completion, you will receive a personalised certificate with the name of the person on whose behalf the Badal was performed, along with a photo of the Mutawwif performing the ritual. A video recording will also be provided if available.
What if the Mutawwif mistakenly says “Almarhum” for someone who is still alive, or mentions the name incorrectly? Is the Badal still valid?
Yes, the Badal is still valid. Minor verbal slips such as mistakenly saying “Almarhum” for someone who is still alive or mispronouncing the name do not affect the validity of the ritual, as long as the intention (niyyah) is clear and correct. In Islam, the sincerity of the intention carries more weight than exact wording. Our Mutawwif (guide) are carefully briefed, but occasional human error does not invalidate the ibadah.
Can I change my Mutawwif or request a refund if I don’t like the one assigned?
We understand this is a personal act of ibadah, but once the process has begun, we’re unable to change the assigned Mutawwif or offer refunds. Our Mutawwif are trusted, experienced, and perform the ritual with amanah. In Islam, what matters most is the sincerity of the intention and the proper fulfillment of the ritual, not personal preference. We encourage making du’a that the ibadah is accepted by Allah.
Will the sponsor’s name be the same as the name on the billing?
Yes. The name provided in the billing details will be reflected as the sponsor’s name on the certificate. This is because the sponsorship and intention (niat) are attributed to the individual who makes the contribution.
When will I receive the certificate and media?
For Badal Umrah, the certificate, photo, and video will typically be sent to you digitally after one month from the completion of the Umrah.
For Badal Haji, the certificate, photo, and video will typically be sent to you digitally after two months from the completion of the Hajj.
Please note that during peak seasons, delivery may take slightly longer due to high order volumes and administrative processing. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we will notify you as soon as everything is ready.
Why doesn’t your Badal service provide free sajadah, Zamzam water, or other extras like some other companies?
Our primary focus is on fulfilling the spiritual obligation of Badal with utmost sincerity and amanah, ensuring that the pahalal (reward) reaches the deceased or the person for whom the Badal is performed. We believe that the essence of this service lies in the correct and respectful performance of the ibadah, rather than in material giveaways.
That is why we place special emphasis on waqaf (endowments) as a meaningful and lasting form of charity connected to our Badal services. Each Badal order includes a complimentary Waqaf contribution, which varies annually based on meaningful projects, such as providing chairs and Qur’ans in Makkah, supporting local madrasahs, or funding educational initiatives overseas. We keep our customers informed once the Waqaf is made.
Additionally, we provide comprehensive documentation and proof of the Badal ritual, including certificates, photos, and videos when available, a level of transparency that many other companies do not offer.
What if I want to buy Zamzam water or sajadah on my own? Do you sell them or where can I buy them?
Yes, you can purchase Zamzam water, sajadah, and other Islamic products from our sister company, Nasar.sg. Please visit their website for a wide selection of authentic items.
Can I ask you to remove the deceased person’s name used in your marketing materials?
We use the names of those we have served with respect, mainly to show proof of fulfilment and legitimacy. If you have concerns about this, please contact us directly with your request. We will review it carefully and respond appropriately, always balancing respect for privacy with the need to provide transparent evidence of our services.
What is your refund policy?
If for any reason we are unable to perform the Badal as scheduled due to emergencies or restrictions you will be offered a full refund or the option to defer the service to the next available season. Please note that once the Badal has been performed, refunds are not available due to the religious nature of the service.

Is Badal Haji valid, and who is qualified to arrange it?
Badal Haji is Islamically valid, grounded in authentic hadith in Bukhari and Muslim and accepted across all four madhhabs. What matters most for families is who arranges it. Badal.sg is run by Ustaz Aarif Raziff and Ustazah Nasibah Hamzah — both Al-Azhar graduates, both certified under the Asatizah Recognition Scheme (ARS) — who ensure every arrangement meets Shariah requirements. Full photo, video and e-certificate documentation is provided upon completion.
Bolehkah Badal Haji dilakukan untuk orang yang masih hidup?
Badal Haji untuk orang yang masih hidup hanya dibenarkan dalam keadaan tertentu: seseorang yang sangat tua dan tidak mampu bergerak, atau yang menghidap penyakit kronik yang kekal seperti kegagalan buah pinggang peringkat akhir, kegagalan jantung, atau kelumpuhan. For a deceased person who was financially capable during their lifetime but never performed Hajj, it is the heirs’ responsibility to arrange Badal Haji before Faraid distribution. Final 2027 pricing will be confirmed when orders open, expected around October 2026. Every package includes a monthly waqaf contribution at Masjidil Haram and full documentation — individual photos, video, and a personalised e-certificate in the name of the deceased. Payment is fully online via HitPay, accepting PayNow, credit/debit cards, GrabPay, and other digital methods.
